Okay so should I be worried or is this normal. I keep reading about everyone getting these new tegus and them eating like pigs and mine wont eat....He comes out everyday and basks for about an hour then goes back into hiding......Is he getting ready to hibernate or what?
Ive tried the following
scrambled egg
turkey Raw and cooked
banana
grapes
tuna(grasping at straws here)
superworms
roaches
He only eats a pinkie about every two days........He did eat a few bits(like a teaspoonful) of canned catfood.\
Temps...113 basking...ambient 85...cool end 82

BTW Ive had him almost a month now and hes only eaten 5 pinks

I'm confused here as you posted he eats a pinky every other day as well as posted that he's only eaten 5 in a month icon_question.gif

I misspoke when I say he ate a pink every other day he did this twice in a row....He might have eaten morethen five but it has not been many.He sure isnt eating likeother peoples tegus are thats for sure.My bluetongue wolfs down 3x as much food on a daily basis..Im just going to assume this a normal semibrumation thing like beardies and ball pythons do or Im going to go nuts worrying about him.

BTW I havent even attempted to hold him yet since Im waiting for him to start eating good on a regular basis first...
