I got an argentine black and white about 3 weeks ago. Everything is fine so far, no majour problems... although he hasn't eaten anything but mice.. Anyways, he's about 20.5 inches long, and he still has a bit of green on his head.. I don't know how old he is, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I know the green is supposed to dissapear within the first month or so, but he's too big to be only 2 months isn't he?

Not neccesarily - My Argentine sprouted up to 20 inches at 8 weeks old, he somewhat slowed down and now at 4 months old he is 2 feet - They grow quickly...

Provided with the right diet and conditions, they seem to grow like crazy until about 6 months/3 ft, and then they begin to plateau out. However I have heard that growth rates are naturally highly variable, so don't be overly concerned if your tegu isn't 5 ft long when its a year old icon_biggrin.gif
