The cage is done (5.5'x2.5'x3') and all that is left is to make the light boxes as there current location is only temporary. The cage is made of Mel-O-Mine sealed with aquarium grade silicone, has 4 vents that can be open and shut to adjust the temp and humidity. the front door/window is made of Plexi and so far i have been able to get the ambient temp up to 88 and the humididty to stay at 75%. This was my first enclosure and was a good learning experinece.

That's good because down the road you may have to add to it as your Tegu grows larger, or build another and keep this one for something smaller - Very nice though - good work - I too am working on a melamine enclosure as well...

Once Grim is older and requires a larger cage, i will stand this cage up and it will be used as an arboreal cage (i built it with a dual use in mind). By then i will have my own house and will not have to worry about getting the cage out the door when i move. My next project will be to make a new enclosure for my bearded and for my girlfriends snakes. thanks for the compliment and good luck your enclosure, its nice to see people on this site making there own cages, it shows that the owners care about there pets and there standard of living
