Here is a little cool lizard I collected today herpin in the field. This is a Eastern fence lizard. Note the blue colors on his chin/belly.

They like the deep woods here in north Florida. They will bite but are not big enough to cause any pain at all. They would probably make a interesting pet for a terrarrium. I let them go here at my house after I collect them, they are great bug catchers. And are fun to watch when I am working outside.

They look as if they may be fairly closely related to Emerald Swifts.

they are "swifts" or "fence lizards" but i never see them on fences in subdivisions-bahama anole probably drives them out. i have them around our area too. the blue patches on males are intense, really pretty. they live on large dead bark trees, deep in woods around here in Clearwater, Fl area even though the maps say they dont go down that far into florida. i have some field pics of them, too from a couple years ago. will try to dig 'em out. they are cool. (Sceloporus undulatus)
