Heya, I have been looking to get an eclectus parrot for several months now, and have really struggled to find exactly what I wanted - a Solomon Island male of around 4-6 months old. Today I went to parrot show with Ian and ended up finding just that;
Hes surprisingly mellow - of course, its only day one, but he has been very watchful and wary, yet has allowed us to touch him which is a good start. He was hand raised but has spent a lot of time amongst other birds, so hes not cuddly tame, but it is clear that he is accustomed to people.
Im so glad to have finally found him - I have had the cage assembled in the lounge since November, so its nice to have an occupant at last!
Many thanks Yeah the bright crimson of the females is beautiful...though I must admit Im a bit biased towards the dark emerald green of the males! The red and blue on his wings is stunning. Just need his beak to turn bright yellow and he will be gorgeous!
