Hi all! I just received my newest addition today from Onyx. He is gorgeous for sure. Gonna give him a week to settle in and then start getting him used to us.

He is learning how to be held. Hasn't tried to bite me yet and yesterday i got to see a real treat. I have heard, but have never seen, that young tegus, when threatened, will slither their bodies like a snake. Man that was about the coolest thing ever. But today, he is a little more easy going than yesterday.
Beautiful. I love the tegus with a lot of white (though not albinos).

That is pretty cool Have you ever seen them do the rattlesnake bit with their tails, shaking it really fast so it rattles on the floor? Now that is amazing (and a bit frightening).

I left a saucer plate in Hannibal's cage today with ground turkey and a whole lot of apple, strawberry and red grape chunks on it. There was more fruit than there was turkey and he ate almost all of it. I was very impressed. The only things left over was two apple chunks (out of like 20) and a wad of turkey. He is a great eater!

great looking tegu, good to hear he's a healthy eater. They will do the tail wiggling if you ad a tankmate, well that's what set mine's tail off... but after getting used to eachother (i introduced them a little more every day) they get along great now. _________________ -Art-

Man.. Hannibal is a Piggy!! He ate a ton yesterday and another ton today. He still likes to hide when i get close to him, but when i hold him, he always climbs straight to my head, so i need to keep a ball cap on.
