Just found a link to this page while looking for more information on my newest friend, a young columbian b/w who i am pretty sure is going to be named Throttle because he seems to only have 2 speeds right now sleeping and Full Throttle lol
He is my first tegu but I have had water dragons for over 3 years and I adopted a bearded dragon about 6 months ago as well.
I just brought him home yesterday and he has already ate a pinkie and a quail egg(no shell ) for me and relieved himself a couple times so I know he is adjusting to his new home fair fine.
I just have him on newspaper right now because he is still rather small but once he is a bit bigger I will be changing that, for now I just want to avoid any chace of impaction due to tasting his enviroment.
Sorry for being long winded and if I come up with questions I will try to keep them shorter hehehe

yes, if you're going to feed eggs at all - feed shell and all. remember that infertile eggs alone in diet are high fat and lead to biotin deficiency ( a vitamin). try to push crickets, super worms, pinkies/fuzzies, maybe some raw turkey burger as a basic diet while he's small. mine also eats overripe mangos and bananas even though columbians don't consume much fruit/veggies typically.

For starters thanks for the welcome !!!
Right now I have no real questions because I am one of those strange people thats willing to read back a few pages and see what everybody else is asking and read previous replies too , I know I know why do that when the same thing can be reposted a thousand times right ??? LOL
Quail eggs are sold right in the dairy isle of the Canadian Superstore for about $3 a dozen. The eggs are still a bit bigger than his head and I was not to sure if he could break into it so next time I will just smash in the one end a bit and let him figure it out. I won't be used normal chicken eggs, seems to me that people frown on it and the lack of biotin.
Before getting Throttle I asked about his eating habits and was assured he is eating strawberry, kiwi and canteloupe for fruits already willingly.
He has eaten 2 pinkies and some strawberry for me at home too as well as the egg and seems to have a full belly right now as I type .... he is basking all flattened out taking it all in.
He is going to be another spoiled brat heheeh just like all my pets.
