hey everyone. i just got my first tegu this past saturday, and after reading a few books, and browsing a few sites i still had some unanswered questions. every other forum i looked at pointed here, so after lurking a bit i decided to join haha. anyway, from just looking around alot of my worries have been calmed.

just some background. its a columbian tegu and about 12 inches long. i don't know for sure how long, and i don't know the sex because i don't really want to bother it too much about all that. at least not until it settles down and gets used to me. it spends most of the day burrowed in the cypress, and is quite fond of crickets. it even ate a little bit of banana the other day.

so yeah, i'm super pleased with my tegu and am looking forward to watching it grow and finding out if its male or female so i can give it the appropriate awesome name. this place seems great and i look forward to chatting it up about tegus. feel free to pm me.

Welcome to The Tegu Community @ www.thetegu.com

I am glad you have found the site of assistance. We have some great and helpful members here. Be sure to check out the "Helpful Info" link on the top left and don't forget to view all of the members tegus in the gallery.

Also, feel free to visit the chatroom. If there is no one chatting give them a little while. Often people will be in the chat, but away from the PC getting a drink or perhaps reading the forums at the same time. They will notice you when they return and they will chat. Evening is generally the best time for chatting. Around 8 to 10pm EST if when I see most activity.

Rick
