just keep your tank on a stand so the tegus can't reach it. you can bet they will be curious and attempt to get into their new roommates cage, which will undoubtedly be stressful and scary for the occupant.

My condolences. I suffer from the same illness. ECS (Empty Cage Syndrome) is a horrible wallet crippling disease. I have had it for years and I honestly do not think there is any hope of a cure for my illness.
If I had room for one more lizard, I'd get another tegu. (which is obvious by the fact that I have 30 adult tegus) lol
