Some of you may have noticed the forums have been a bit bumpy the last couple days. TheTegu.com has been receiving huge amounts of traffic (which is great) but it has put a bit of strain on the servers memory and cpu. Over the next few days we may still hit a couple bumps, but the techs at the datacenter at which the server is located will be doubling server RAM and as well as the CPU. Things will soon be running smooth again.. w00t.

You will notice the Photo Gallery and the IRC chat has been disabled until we can find out exactly where the issue is coming from. It will be back, but for the moment I need to find the culprit.

It would see the culprit was the original memory that was in the system. Doubling the RAM didn't help, it seemed to make it worse. Of course we didn't know that so PHP, MySQL, Perl, etc were all upgraded. The software being upgraded with bad memory in the system, corrupted. Thus the server went into a horrible state.
The techs at the datacenter helped me conciderably. Finally, we think we have the issue resolved. At noon today the server was up and running fine.
Its now 3:22pm and I am re-enabling TheTegu.com to see how memory use will go. If the server pulls it off we are in the clear, if not there may also be a memory leak in the software and I my need to redesign the site, but for now.. lets cross our fingers.
Note that the chat link and the photo gallery are still off so I can gradually slide TheTegu.com back into operation and monitor the effects.

Yes. It seems much smoother so far.
The Photo Gallery has been re-enabled, but you must be Registered & Logged In if you want to be able to browse the gallery. The Gallery has almost 4000 tegu photos in there and to save on resources I have set it to Members Only access.
So, you are are lurkin and wanna see all these cool pictures, register and join our community! It's free anyways.
