We are about to buy a house and I'm wondering what to do with our tegu's room. The room is 10x10 and will be setup with the tegus free roaming. There will be appropriate UV lighting and temps. What I'm wondering is what to do with the floor? If we put any kind of substrate down, it'll make disinfecting hard. If we put down laminate floors, the tegus nails will tear it up. Any thoughts? Maybe you could put a tarp like material down to cover the floor and just put the mulch over it, and when you want to change the mulch it would be easy. I really like the idea of linoleum with a big sandbox of mulch! I'll probably have to put a tarp under the sandbox for the stuff that may get thrown out. But its not easy for them to tear up? I wouldn't want to spend the time and money converting the room, just to have him destroy it. Thanks for the great ideas!!
