first a little bit about mom. this is the woman who moved to GA and when she realizes GA had many snakes she had us come and get her and she left her husband and new home. she use to have screaming nightmares of snakes. she would see them on TV and you could see her get goose bumps.
chance enters the picture. first surgery i had to beg my mom to drive us. she finally agreed if we sat in the back seat and chance was in her tote with the lid securely shut.
she sat at the opposite side of the waiting room as me and chance.
second surgery she willingly drove us and sat by us in the waiting room and threw a few 'poor girl' at chance.
third surgery we sat in the waiting room and she would pet chances tail and call her 'grandmas girl' wouldn't touch the top part of chance though.
police get called and they come to take chance away...mom helps stretch chance to get a measurement and rushes to get the car to get chance out of the place so she dont have to be taken away.
now today she loves chance and chance is always 'grandmas girl' and ' is your mom taking care of you good?' 'is this darn diet almost done' 'grandma will sneak you a few rats when your mom isn't looking.' no chance my mom would ride around with live or dead rats in her car!
well today my dream came true. i have 2 of my most favorite things in the world together. no fear left at all today is a day i will always remember and love.
there really is no words for the joy i felt today my mom will be 82 in july. took 82 years for this. lol _________________ "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened"-Anatole France

Very cool, thanks for sharing that one. It's neat to see people move through the things that may narrow their focus of whats enjoyable in life, and grow into new things.
it was great to watching it grow from total fear to acceptance and then love. _________________ "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened"-Anatole France

I think that is awesome!! Luckily, growing up I never had too much of an issue with my parents being afraid or thinking something was wrong with me for keeping my scaly critters. My dad bought me my first snake and mom would take me almost monthly to the local reptile shows. _________________ Everything I know about life, I learned from Nintendo!!
