So I just recently purchased this tegu on a whim and I feel now that it may have been a mistake. I live in a small apartment on campus at my school, and he doesn't seem happy in his small tank. . I am considering selling him, not to make a profit, just to find him a better home. I paid $50 for him. I already have a red eared slider here and he has the big tank so i think the tegus gatta go

I'm guessing from the price it is a columbian? _________________ Everything I know about life, I learned from Nintendo!!

How long ago did he lose the tip of the tale, and is that stuck shed I see on the rest of his tail, it might be the picture but it looks like the rest of his tail is smaller, and it could have blood flow restriction but that just like i said could be the picture or my eyes. he might be little harder to get rid of, less people are willing to take a columbian. A few more pictures couldn't hurt.
Take him back where you got him. Or to a reptile store. Or to your local humane society. Local herp club?
I'd take him to find him a new home, but I can't afford to pay the shipping right now unfortunately. One thing I have is space. LOL.

Untill you do find a new home for him could you please for his sake soak him daily, and leave a warm wet towl in with him, it should help his tail problem it looks painful, and it looks like it has more then one shed still stuck on it.
You may want to post an add in your local craigslist.com under pets. Just remember that you can not sell pets there but you can "adopt" or "rehome" them for free or for a fee (rehoming fees help to weed out the idiots and undesireables as pet owners). Its the wording in the add you post that counts or they will flag your post. This way you may be able to find a local home for him without the stress of shipping at this time of year and more quickly. You could also try posting an add at the local pet stores (if they let you) or even at other types of stores or check for local reptile rescues who may take him in. As Nero said tho, take care of him in the meantime so he stays healthy. _________________ ~~ Christina ~~

Yea, the best way would be for you to make sure where the animal is going. If you drop it off at a petshop it most likely will go to the first idiot that makes an offer. Plus most petshops dont know or dont care how to properly care for their animals. Especially don't take him back to the place you got it from if you got it in that condition.
