can anyone pm me or reply with blue tegus for sale. i am interested in either excess adult breeder or baby hatchlings for next year. If any one knows of breeders taking deposits or even selling any hatchlings let me know thanks alot and take care. id rather have a older tegu due to the fact that i am considering keeping it in my red tegus enclosure. I have a 2 yr old argentine red. icon_cool.gif

Hey Taxman,

I would like a blue tegu too but I will not be getting one because I live in canada so I am sad on that end of the scale. But head this warning:

1) Do not mix species with different sizes (a jumbo Argentine red with a Baby Blue Tegu...well you can guess how that is going to go) as a rule of thumb that has been drilled into everyones heads "big things eat smaller things so chances are things arnt going to go as soon as planned.

2) I do not believe in mixing species and keeping them together...this might be just me and you can take it or leave it as that. But I believe this can have adverse effects on the animal in many different ways...the only time I have found this to be generally decent in my books is breeding and after the breeding season people spereate these two species agian...but this is my two cents take it or leave it icon_smile.gif

If you would like an Idea...what I am currently doing is building an enclosure for my Argentine B/W Tegu which is 8 x 4 x 2 BUT I am going to have another tank stacked on top for a total hieght of around 4 feet of the two cages stacked on top of each other. so 8x4x2 for one species and on top is another cage thats 8 x 4 x 2 for another speices...so in total the "unit" will be measuring 8 x 4 x 4...but thats just me. Well hope you can use the advice good luck and happy herping icon_biggrin.gif

P.S. Best Wishes on finding a blue...post pictures when you get S(HE) icon_wink.gif

Blues are pretty cool. Somewhat skiddish, but over all, they are pretty neat to have in the collection. I got 1.1 blues from Rick this year, they are great!

Hey Broodwich,

Visit Jim at J&J Reptiles on 17 Ave. He is currently hibernating his pair of Blues (You don't even want to ask what the CITIES cost him). He won't take any deposits obviously until he's got eggs but the list of interested people is getting long.
