the thing that sucks about getting reptiles sent out of the USA is all the papers and forms you have to go through, if you can find some one that is willing to deal with that, it may cost you a bit extra then I would look around, look at some sites.

I have been calling around, any so far they have all said no. I have found a few places in Canada that sell them, but its on the east coast and Im on the west, and they dont ship..lol so i would have to take a 3 day drive. There and a 3 day drive back. and i dont think the tegu would like to be stuck in a car for 3 days i know i wouldnt.

Please let me know if you find a breeder in Canada. I as well have come up against these issues and continue to look from frozen northern Alberta. Thanks

Hey MADHATTA84,

Its hard living up in canada trying to get alot of these reptiles (B.C. Laws are alot looser than in AB.) but still I had the same problem with finding my tegu.

My advice to you is find a place you can trust and research there upkeep methods, where they get the reptiles from, there standings on certian issues from the Manager and hopefully you can find someone trust worthy enough to order you a tegu. An old friend of mine owns a Reptile only store here in Calgary and he was able to get me a great tegu. Well I hope you can find yourself a wonderful pet tegu until then keep us informed and hopefully one of us can help! Well good luck and happy herping icon_biggrin.gif

P.S. OH' Canada our home and native land! Brings a tear to my eye everytime I sing it! GO canada boys! icon_biggrin.gif

Not a breeder but J&J Reptiles in Calgary is where I got mine from and I know he has some in right now as I type this...

You could email them and see if they can help you...

jjreptiles@shaw.ca

or call them at 403-273-4666

They are dealers and own a store here having been around for a long time with the other business The Dragons Tale which is their Bearded Dragon side of things which they do breeding practices with.

Hope this helps

If you don't mind dealing with a drive or shipping, I know a place that can get you not only a tegu, but a Bert Langerwerf tegu. It's a place in Vaughan, Ontario (north of Toronto) called Reptilia.. originally a reptile store, but completed a new project in '05 and is now a reptile store/indoor reptile zoo. It's magnificent. The URL is www.reptilia.org. Check their available list, or just send an e-mail. The guy to talk to is Joshua Feltham. He helped me to find a tegu, but I ended up randomly spotting one at a different location, so I didn't buy from him. He's a very friendly guy.. very knowledgable.. and he'll do what it takes to help you out. He deals with Agama International and takes care of all the CITES permits and whatnot. In my opinion, he's the way to go.

Good luck!
