hooking my 360 up to pc monitor?

My monitor has a 1280x1024 max resolution. I went out and bought the VGA HD component cable to hook my 360 up to my monitor. I noticed that my monitor doesn't have the red and white inputs. What do I do about this?

if you have the proper component cables, i believe so. What do you mean by any system? I know this gen and last gen but not n64 or any ghetto crap like that.

You need a jack for the sound input - I believe the official VGA comes with one, but I dont think that 3rd party ones do. The red and white plug into it and it has a speaker jack on the other end so it will plug into the speaker socket on the monitor. Maybe you can buy them by themselves at an electrical store?
