Carl is about 9-10 mos old and he woke up on the 1st from hibernation. He has been a real hungry fellow. I don't think he has crapped yet either. Sorry to say it like that, but whatever. He is looking like a sausage, and is still hungry a lot of the time. He is also a little jumpy when I am getting near him w/ my hand, but sometimes he looks a little too interested in it (hand) sometimes and came after it once. ??? I have been placing his food (turkey, etc.) in a bowl, but toss in the superworms. Is he acting normal? What advice do you wonderful guys have?

In order to get his bowel movements going, I'd let him soak in some warm water. I find that sometimes tegus like to unload when then having a nice soak. Best of luck with that.

His bowels moved last night. Very clear and watery with large white globs. I would like to soak him, but he freaks out every time I get near him and runs back into his hole. He wasn't too bad before hibernation, but he was still a nervous type. I have never held him or scratched him for a period of time. I measured him and he's approx. 22". And sometimes when I do get close to him he will either close his eyes or start panting. I am always very slow and talk to him when I reach in. It is getting discouraging. Even my old Columbian was more receptive than Carl has been. Uggh.
