theTegu.com - Tegu information, photo gallery, forums, caresheets, diet & nutritional info, taming tips and more for the argentine black and white tegu, argentine red tegu, blue tegu, colombian black tegu and the colombian gold-phased black tegu. Tupinambis merianea, teguixin & rufescens.
My argentina black and white tegu(15 inches from head to tail) moves slow.
I have the basking temp at 105 to 110 degrees. and the cool end is about 80-82 degrees. I have seen other tegus eat online and they seem to move pretty quick , but my tegu looks at the mouse(dead)and waits a bit then eats it.
Is this normal?

If the tegu is eating normally and moving around normally, it sounds like a low feeding response. It's not only fine, but makes for a tamer tegu. It means the tegu knows there is no challenge for food. Mine are like that. If you toss a dead mouse in, they will slowly walk over, smell it.. and then eat it... calmly.
