Im looking to get a hatchling or sub adult argus monitor this summer after i build my new cage.(its going to be huge and split in half for a tegu and the other half for the monitor) im wondering if anyone here breeds or knows anyone who breeds argus monitors and what price should i expect to pay for one?

Thank you,
Mat

Check the classifieds on Kingsnake.com
I have seen babies recently anywhere from $165 to $300.
I have had and have monitors but never an Argus.
Apparently their appetite is voracious. Then again, what healthy monitor
or tegu doesn't have an appetite like that?!?!
Good luck!

It can be flighty at times but that's to be expected with Ornates and Niles.
I have had Savs and BTs and always wanted an Ornate so this was my winter project while the tegus were all hibernating.
It has been a great learning experience and sometimes challenging but
the trust is finally there. I now have a respectful and rewarding realtionship with him/her. I would only recommend these guys to the experienced and dedicated. While it is a very intelligent and interesting lizard it is nothing like the awesome temperment of a tegu.

Be sure to post some pix when you get your new monster! icon_smile.gif
