Hi! I bought a tegu some days ago, and someone sold it as rufescence. In my opinion it is a strange rufescence...he has a merianian head..some red on the head and the nest....but the tail is totally black with a lot of white spots... someone can help me to detect better the right species of this tegu? thanks Back to top Johelian Retired Mod Joined: Nov 22, 2004 Posts: 848 Posted: Wed Jul 25, 2007 7:33 am    Post subject: You can get reds with a lot of black markings...you can also get black and whites with brown colouration Perhaps the colour on the tail is taking longer to come through? Red on the rest of the body would definitely suggest T.rufescens to me.
