I keep my blues in 54" vision cages. They have worked great thus far. Potty training is basicly forcing the animal to crap in water and making them learn to keep doing it. Eventually you can switch them over to mulch or something like that. It's not easy and takes alot of time. I haven't tried to potty train any of my tegus. A 50g would be fine although I personally don't like useing fish tanks. The adult enclosure you are talking about should work fine.

i would get something that's not too tall otherwise it may scare the tegu when you go to pick it up because it may associate you reaching down and grabbing it with a bird reaching down to grab it and eat it. how big would the lizard be? if it's 16" or more you can put it in the 6' cage. and you can ask some people on here how to potty train a tegu. Many people say that it's not too hard. good luck
