These three videos demonstrate the gist of keeping a healthy, adult Argus monitor. These are not my videos, the first 2 are from Krusty, or Jburokas from Rz\Ks. The last one is from shay_ from ks and rz.

You're not going to be handling it unless you want a cut up body. These lizards are almost hyperactive under the right care. As you can see, they have a SAVAGE feeding response. The gouldi complex (Argus, flavi, goulds, etc) of monitors have the biggest appetite in my opinion.

You're going to need a HUGE cage. Argus get 4-5 feet, but their hyperactivity makes it so you need a bigger cage than other lizards their size.

Have fun. icon_twisted.gif icon_wink.gif

the gouldii complex is actually my favorite varanid commplex. i love their stature, feeding responce and their personalities. plus their feeding responce is just amazing and known to be the strongest of all the varanids. icon_wink.gif i think that is why im drawn to them. also i know that they need a large enclosure but i have that covered. icon_wink.gif
thank you for the vids too. they are really good. they last one shuld be panoptes fishing! lol
i cant wait to get my little raptor icon_twisted.gif

I like Raptor! Those videos are kinda cool, but not something I'd get into until a bit into my future and after I studied up a bit. Bad enough I'm getting a lizard that's going to grow as long as me! I'm only 5'2 lol!

Argus monitors are scary, but cool looking and super fun to feed icon_biggrin.gif ...Raptor seems like it'd be a good name for one. icon_smile.gif
