theTegu.com - Tegu information, photo gallery, forums, caresheets, diet & nutritional info, taming tips and more for the argentine black and white tegu, argentine red tegu, blue tegu, colombian black tegu and the colombian gold-phased black tegu. Tupinambis merianea, teguixin & rufescens.
From what I've found out the Colombians are more aggressive and harder to tame. Also, they have different markings. There may be other differences but thats all I know for sure.

argentine tegus get larger in general, seem to be more tame just about all of the time, you can tell the difference pretty easy. Arg tegus have two distinct lines made out of their patterns that run down either side of the spine, and arg tegus have 2 loreal scales whereas col. tegus only have one. those are the scales in between the eye and nostril. Arg tegus will more readily take fruit whereas col. seem to be more strictly carnivors but ive seen a few col take fruit. there are plenty more differences but that's my lil input _________________ -Art-
