Hi icon_wink.gif

Does anyone here own a Savannah icon_question.gif

Just was wondering how they are to raise and what kind of interaction they accept from the humans?

I have seen pictures of people holding them like babies but that might be rare.

Any info is welcome.

Thanks
Brat!

We bought a Savannah baby at a reptile show but traded up to a Tegu when we found out they can be unpredictable, and how tame a Tegu can be. I think we made the right choice.

I had one for 7 years and it was one of my best lizards ever.
However, I did purchase it as a hatchling and handled it every day.
It was as tame as any of my tegus. But you will see, their temperments
do vary. He was a big male, about 4' long.

I have a big male Sav thats just around 4ft. ive had him since he was the size of my pinky finger and when he was little he was a bit nippy, but once he got some size he became a pushover. He's the biggest baby out of all the reptiles i have. Id rate him just as tame as my tegus. I can pick him up whenever without any problems and he'll just lay with me and watch tv and he likes to go around and explore if i'll let him. He loves to swim too. Hes never tried to nip or bite since he was very little. My fiance Emilee calls him her baby, hes probably her favorite outta all my pets. They grow quick though so you need to be prepared. Ive seen some big ones be mean and no where near as tame as mine but ive put a ton of time and work into him. Good luck icon_wink.gif
