So... yesterday morning, My daughter goes down stairs to turn on the lizard lights and yells out theres an egg lying on the bottom of the beardie cage. I knew the female was going to be laying eggs soon, but I was surprised to see this egg. This is my first attempt at breeding, and I expected her to dig around her cage a lot when she was ready to lay. I quickly took the male out and put in a nesting box. Now a day later she still hasn't layed anything, or seems interested to. Is this one egg just a discard ? _________________ It's all fun and games until you lose your right to vote and bare arms!!!!
I don't know about the egg, but just wanted to suggest that even if breeding, don't house the bearded dragons together. One will become dominant over the other, and it won't be good for either, especially a laying female if she is dominated over. Let them meet a few times for about a week, then wait a week, then let the mate again. You also don't want the male to over breed the female. _________________ 1.1.0 Bearded Dragons (Damien and Miss Priss)

Do you know if it is fertile or not? Inferts are usually smaller and yellow. If you hold it in the right angle, you will see thin, red, spidery veins throughout the egg. If it's infertile, you won't.
I would leave her in the the nesting area for a bit longer. Can you feel more eggs? Doing this in a bath makes it easier to find them. _________________ Animals: Too many.
She definitely has more eggs. You can feel them inside and see her big belly is all bumpy like. I read somewhere that if they get egg bound they will stop eating. She still eats and climbs around (although she doesn't chase down any crickets) . Do you think giving her a long soak would help anything? I'll just keep the nesting box moist and warm for her. It's been about five weeks since I saw her and the male doing....you now it.LOL Thanks for the help. _________________ It's all fun and games until you lose your right to vote and bare arms!!!!
