If you could have any lizard in the world, please exclude any lizards you already have, what would it be? icon_cool.gif

Don't worry about it being illegal or really expensive,I just would like to know what "one" lizard would you have if you could get it.
If you could post a picture of it,that would be really cool also.

I would like two the first being a shingleback Skink and then a Banana Morph Spiny Tailed Iguana. My choices aren't very exotic but I don't like getting bit too much so would always want something that can be tamed. icon_lol.gif

Are shinglebacks not exotic? I thought they were really hard to find for same/expensive? I wouldnt mind some shinglebacks if they are available icon_smile.gif

My most wanted are Cordylus cataphractus, "true" armadillo lizards (not to be confused with C.tropidosternum/jonesii, or "dwarf sungazers"). Id love a pair of these, but have never seen any for sale.

Id also really like some C.giganteus. but they really ARE impossible to find. I believe they are actually endangered too, but could be wrong;

Yes they are there endangered and there is a law in Fiji Island that says that all of the Fiji iguana's belong to the king. But if I hope one day I could have one.

Fijis arent rare in Europe - just very expensive icon_smile.gif A good store near here had 3 trios in not that long ago, and theyre always being advertised on the classifieds. I think you can buy them here for around £1200 each.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.........

I would love to have a mexican beaded lizard, or even a gila monster.

http://www.desertmuseum.org/programs/images/Helhor06.jpg

I really like their look, and anything close to a monitor is fair game for me. icon_lol.gif

I'm pretty sure the beadeds are either endangered, or just ridiculously expensive.

These also look pretty fun to keep.

They have some young gilas (they have markings closer to H.suspectum, but not sure if they are those or beadeds, H.horridum) at the same shop that had the fijis here icon_biggrin.gif Very pretty animals, but I never intend on keeping anything hot. They have to keep them in a cage with double-locks, but its still on the shop floor within easy access of everyone...

I just read an article today in the newspaper about a guy who stole 3 Fiji Island iguanas and tried to smuggle them into the U.S.--in his prosthetic leg no less! icon_rolleyes.gif He apparently took them from a preserve, stuffed them in his leg, and got caught in customs! He's form SoCal, so, knowing our wildlife laws, he'll be in quite a bit of trouble....I wonder if they'll ship the igaunas back to Fiji?

I guess I was thinking more of "impossible" to get as being exotic.
They are possible to get,you just need about $9,000.00 for a pair. icon_confused.gif
In the spring if I can get $1,000.00 I can get a pair of Monkey Tailed Skinks but Bert makes no promises they will actaully be male and female since they are hard to sex.
