Just thought I'd say hello, my name is Josh by the way. I just received my first Tegu yesterday, an Arg. B/W hatchling from Sisco Reptiles. I have a lot of experience with Savannah Monitors, Ball Pythons and Iguanas but I can already tell that this little Tegu is different. In the short time I have had her, "Saphira" has already shown more intelligence and curiosity than I have ever seen in a reptile before. I can see why y'all are fascinated by these incredible animals. I hope to get some pics of my new baby soon. Well thanks for listening.

Welcome to the Tegu.com. You'll find lots of good information here, as well as some great pictures and some funny stories. Enjoy your new friend, and yes, they are incredibly intelligent. My big male free roams in the backyard in the summer and after about a week of leashwalking, he now knows where he can go and not go.

They're just awesome!
