After careful consideration and the fact that I couldn't find a water pump around here under 50 bucks, I decided not to put in a waterfall...but it will have a bubble bowl in the wall, and a big bubble bowl in the middle with a fogger. Here are a couple pics:

Figured since he'd be up mostly at night, I might as well give him some stars to look at. LOL

Styrofoam was everywhere...looked like it snowed in our bedroom.

With wet concrete, just stuck the vine in there for the pic...gonna plant a few plants, and add some branched coming out of the walls.

Should be finished in a couple days.

Looks Great!
Can't wait till I can see your new Crested.
To observe my geckos in the dark I have been using Lunar Lights and they work great.Geckos cannot see the red or blue lights.I use red.
Its very relaxing to sit in the dark and watch them move all around and jumping from place to place.
Watching them eat is fun too. icon_wink.gif

Brat!

Great looking cage.
OK.....what exactly and how did you apply the "cement" to the styrofoam? I've thought about making fake rocks outside but my first attempt at a rock, concrete type wall was a fiasco.
Do you water seal it? How strong is it?
I'm ready to start on my outside pen which will be a revamped 12'x18'x7'high cat pen. I would love to make some rock ramps and ledges and can use all the help I can get.

This is only my second attempt at the rock wall thing, but it's not as bad as it seems. I went to the local Best Buy and asked permission to "dumpster dive" for their unwanted styrofoam, so much cheaper than buying it yourself. I glued the foam to the cage with LOCTITE POWER GRIP. The amount of concrete you use will depend on what type of animal you're putting in with it...example, if you're doing it for a tegu you'll need a pretty thick coat. For this cage I put it on with a paint brush, it's a very thin coat to keep the cage from weighing a hundred lbs., but a crested isn't big enough to cause any real damage. I sealed it with KILZ, and I also added some color because it usually only comes in white. There are other sealers that you can use, but all I could find around here said the fumes could cause cancer, so I just stuck with KILZ. And that's pretty much it.

Thank you, TallBaldNTatt2ed : )

I will go pester the boys at Home Depot for any other help. Great idea about dumpster diving at Best Buy for styrofoam. I actually like to "peek" in the dumpsters from time to time. I used to dive for discarded plants behind the nurserys, no permission, waaay after dark, always took a big dog. : ) It would have to be modified diving now as I'm afraid I'd get stuck in the dumpster.

Send pics of your completed cage, can't wait to see it.
