Hi. I've got a Black and Gold, Benicio. He was going to the bathroom earlier and something sort of... came out. (?) It was as if his "vent" or whatever came out from the inside... about an inch or so long. It went back in after he was finished relieving himself. I didn't know if this was normal because I've never really watched him go before. Well, I have seen it happen ONCE, but a few days later I took him to the vet and everything was normal with his X-Rays and stuff.

I thought it might be a piece of bark the first time (he had cypress) but now he's got Aspen and none of the pieces are big enough to get stuck.

So yea, is this normal? It doesn't sound like it would be, but it went back in like it was the usual thing... I don't know. =]

Thanks,
Mallory

That is his hemipenis, which he everts when defecating. Completely normal, as greentriple said. If you watch it will happen almost every time he goes.
