i got my argentine black and white about 2 weeks ago from agama international (a christmas present from my awesome wife). It was in hibernation when I got it, and I'm about to go nuts!!! I want to handle it so bad! I've only seen it three times since I got him, but he's absolutly beautiful. I cannot wait to start warming him up so I can started taming him. It's alot bigger than I thought it was going to be, it's an 07 and at least 24 inches already. You can see that gleam in its eye everytime it looks at you. I've had savannah and nile monitors in the past, and none of them had the intelligent "be my friend and I'll be yours" attitude. I can't wait for march.....aaaarrrrggggggg!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, its a killer time for us owners. The waiting game for sure. My male won't stay down and still eats like there is no tomorrow. So, I get to play with him still for short periods of time. _________________ 1.1.0 Snow boas

Ah the trials and tribulations of Tegu owners. Mine is out 1X a day and if I'm around at that time (usually not as I'm at work) then we hang for a few hours.
Mines an 07 from Agama, born in Sept. or Aug. and is 25", they grow fast.

Welcome to the Tegu forum (family).I know the feeling of wanting to hold him and go crazy when you can't.Thank God that one of my Tegus (Leonidas) still comes out every day.I get to play with him and also take a nap with him (he will not move). The other one (Zeuss) comes out of his hiding place just every 3 to 4 days.I get to hold him for a while (about 1 or 2 hours) than he wants to hide again for a nother 3 or 4 days. What did you name him ? Hope you are going to enjoy this site as much as I have.Take care and good luck with your Tegu.
