Yeah that's the hard part...from what i've heard the best way is to compare the heads. Males have a more robust triangular shape than the female. Though if it's possible to notice that with younglings i don't know icon_biggrin.gif

Awesome lizard though....if you get the REALLY armoured one(Cordylus cataphractus).

If they were available here, i'd have a few icon_sad.gif

Yeah you do that. Because there are several kinds of "Armadillo Lizards"....well actually there arent....but many similar to the real armadillo lizard, that they call "Armadillo Lizard"....even though they arent icon_biggrin.gif

Here's a pic of a "real" one....and observe the baby....so nobody tries to fool you....they are born as spiny as an adult icon_wink.gif

Armadillos are really cute.
They were on TV last night actually, and they are very sociable in the wild, because, like wolves, they travel in groups, and they all keep watch for predators from above, and when one armadillo flees into a rock, the rest follow.

A couple of survival instincts they have is when they feel threatened they whip their tail up and bite it in their mouths, at the same time, bringing their legs in, so they make something looking like a ball.

By doing that they are protecting their important organs in the middle of the ball, and their spines become incredibly sharp, making it very difficult for something to eat it.

It takes them a while to realize its safe again before they have the guts to let go of their tail.

Not much info.. but y'know, a little bit of background info doesn't hurt. =)
