Hey, I'm Dave.
I'm saving my money to get a golden tegu.

I had a bit of bad luck with a golden tegu in the reptile store the other day..
One of them had got out.. The woman who worked there only liked bearded dragons and would not go anywhere near the other reptiles, and me being my *heroic* self tried to catch it.. I did eventually.. after three bites and one flesh tear =p
It was the first time I actually realized how smooth their scales are.. compared to other reptiles.. and very slippery when wet/moist.
Still, getting bitten didn't put me off, as soon as it was back in the tank I wanted to get it out again!

Anyway, abit about my reptile world..
I have:
1 x Pueblan Milk Snake
1 x Corn Snake
2 x Bearded Dragons
(One Male, One Female.. I think, abit young to tell lol)
1 x Gecko
1 x Iguana

As well as that I also own plenty of domesticated animals such as dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, fish, horses, ferrets, sisters..

Not bad considering I'm a 14 year old kid.

So yeah, I'm saving my money for all the stuff I need, they have more or less the same setup as an Iguana.. And seen as my Dad is a Joiner/Carpenter.. He can make me some real nice tanks with thick Laminate glass to stop any grumpy Iguanas smashing the glass.

Well, This seems like a cool place to chat about my reptiles and learn a thing or two.. Not many people round here are good with them, So usually the internet is my one stop for knowledge

Welcome!

Have fun reading and writing! There's lots of info here! So much I think I need to get my eyes checked for computer fatigue! icon_eek.gif Those are my eyes right before they explode from spending so much time on this website.

You'll love sharing your life with a Tegu! Tame him/her and you'll never have to worry about bites.

I totally understand that. My Iguana was a nasty little thing when I first got him.. always tail whipping me in the face, and miserably gumming me to death with his mouth.. but now hes my favorite reptile.. May sound stupid.. but theres a bond between owner and pet like with a dog.

I also totally understand about your eyes too icon_razz.gif
I need my eyes testing again because at school I can only see the board from one table in front.. I'm on more or less every night doing all sorts of stuff lol

I only got into reptiles last year.. But since then I've learned so much, not only about the reptiles I own, but they are a fascinating subject on the whole.. And I can't stand seeing reptiles mis-treated or abused.. It makes me sick.

Ive already posted a comment or two about tank building and stuff lol, It probably isn't much compared to everyone already on here.. but what ever knowledge I have I will share

Welcome Dave!

Yes if you need Tegu info....this is definitely the place.
I recently took a wild little savage that had been dog attacked under my wings...and if it weren't for this forum, he'd probably not be as well as he is now.

Doesn't matter if you can contribute with few commentaries or long guides....it's the input of everyone and total sum of it that counts.

So once again...Welcome Dave, I'm Chris.
