I have had this tegu for about 3 months now. He/she is an Argentine B&W and will not eat. I can't understand what the deal is. I have another tegu that is the same age and kept in a separate cage, but is almost double the size. Both were around 10 inches total when I got them. One is just a little over 2 feet, while the one who does not eat is very scrawny and barely over 14 inches. The cages are identical and I can't see why this one won't eat anything. Pinkies, eggs, crickets, mealworms, and veggies/fruits. Nothing seems to perk him up. What should I do here?

Have had him checked for parasites??

Do they have UVB bulbs?? What are they, how old are they, how far away?? Switch the bulbs and see if there's any change. One bulb could be bad.

Can they see each other?? Maybe he's stressed.

haven't had him checked for parasites. They have UVB bulbs about 10 inches from the basking area. Temperatures are around 80-85 degrees thru the cage and 95-100 in the basking area. Humidity is around 70-80%. The cages are stacked so it would be pretty hard for them to see each other. How would I go about checking him for parasites? I don't know of any vet in the area that specializes in reptiles

I agree, you might want to get him checked for parasites. This would explain why he is not eating or growing.

could it be hibernating? or at least wanting too? where did you get it? I know some petstores feed sick mice to their tegu's and a good vet check might be in order but Varn, what do you think about it needing to sleep?
