i'm seriously considering (after i've built my cage) purchasing an argentine black and white tegu and had one question: do i have to have a small cage for a baby or can i use the large cage and maybe just section off an area for a little while?

I can't imagine why it would be a problem. You are just further ahead than those of us who started them in tanks, didn't know they'd grow so fast, and then had to scurry to get a bigger enclosure built.

Just make sure it has everything your little one will need. And all that info is available on here somewhere.

What you could do, is to isolate a part of you Adult enclosure icon_smile.gif (example 1/3 of the tank available for your baby Tegu) and after a couple month, (when he grows a bit) you take out the second seperation and finally after another couple of month you take off the last part. icon_biggrin.gif

That what I would do. icon_wink.gif
