I have read that pine and cedar are toxic to reptiles and i think they mean if they ingest it but is it ok to build the enclosure with pine plywood? I am going to stain it and polyurethane it. _________________ Ashley

its okay to use as long as you put on at least three coats of polyurethane. _________________ 1.0.0 Leopard gecko

I am am pretty sure pine is not toxic to reptiles, cedar however is. Pine is best to avoid merely because it molds so easily. If you use pine boards to build with it's best to cover with polyurethane or non-toxic paint that will keep the moisture out of the wood. I would do this with almost any wood I used.
