Akiva just recently shed, she looks all nice and shiny except her tail, it looks as if it didnt shed off the dead layer, its all drab and dirty looking, is there anyway to help this come off? I gave her 2 soaks one last week, but no luck, when she wanders by the door I spray down her tail, but it doesnt seem to want to shed off.

My guy has the same issue, the last 1/4 of his tail seems to stick around until I get involved. I use miniral oil and rub it on the skin, let it soak for a little and then peel off the ramining skin. this has worked well for me. Also I've been more careful at making sure the humidity is at least 65%, this has helped with the balance of the tail.

It is normal for the skin of the tail to come of later ( about 5 to 7 ).Like greentriple sad try to use some of that mineral oil ( I used pure olive oil before and it helped, too ).Is Akiva being nicer to you now ? take care Kat.
