In response to what to feed them, it is recommended that you feed them a diet consisting of mostly crickets (supplemented) and ground turkey and f/t mice once a week. Their digestive track is tiny and has trouble handling all the protein and fat in such large quantities. Black throats are one of the best pet monitors you can get in my opinion. There are always the odd balls that are mean as Niles. (but that is pretty hard to do) I have a Nile, don't get one. I should have listened to what people say about them. My friends call him Dr. Satin. Just to give you an idea of how mean he is.

lol yes I heard so much about the nile monitor, they seems to be very agressive and stand-offish. I never saw one of those beautiful species in a petshop in Québec. icon_confused.gif

However, I already made my choice, I am going to buy an Argentine Black and White Tegu or a Red Tegu if I Do not find a B/W.

Thx guys for the info! icon_biggrin.gif
