I'm glad you didn't end up getting a monitor in the end. They vary a lot in personality and require a lot more patience than that! I've had some that have taken years to get used to people, while others are calm after a few months.

No, I would not traded my BTS for a Monitor, first, because the guys would not let me lol icon_lol.gif , second all the monitors in our petshop are wildcaught. icon_confused.gif

I didn't buy a blue tongue skink, to work into a Taming process, like other naturally stand-offish reptile (monitor), if I had a Monitor, I would not trade him only after a few months like this. icon_wink.gif A lot of people told me that they have generally a good nature which is totally true. He never bited me. But I was looking for a reptile that can be handle by everybody not only by myself. icon_wink.gif I made a mistake about the word ''untamed'', I should remplace it by stand-offish with other people. icon_biggrin.gif Also, he was so inactive and boring, rarely on his basking spot, and walking into his enclosure. icon_sad.gif

Now, I see all the difference with my bearded Dragon, always active, on his basking spot, walking and looking at me with so much curiosity. icon_biggrin.gif I can take him out of his enclosure without a defensive action. icon_smile.gif There is a big difference of personality between the two of them.

I know that you saw my previous post about looking for a ''tame'' monitor icon_rolleyes.gif I didn't ask this question for looking for the biggest challenge to tame. I am still looking for the Tegu, but they are so hard to find in Quebec (except for the colombian). icon_sad.gif I wanted to know if they was a way to buy a monitor who has the same temperament as a the Tegu. Which looks possible, but much harder. I heard many good point on them and some bad point. icon_biggrin.gif

However, I am satisfied of my trade. icon_biggrin.gif Now I am waiting till July 29th to get a B/W Argentine Tegu or a Red Tegu. icon_wink.gif

Ben I followed your lead, you inspired me icon_biggrin.gif

We have been toying with the idea of getting another reptile for the last few weeks and originally were going to go with a frilled dragon, then we changed our minds and decided on a Veiled Chameleon which we were going to go with right up until the day before yesterday, when I had a complete change of heart.

So yesterday we brought home the brand new addition to our family Jorge the Beardie and he is adorable.
i will post some pics later!!!

Yes they are totally adorable, they have a pretty kind face, and are very curious. They are also very active. icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif
