How much does your Tegu drink icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

We have recently bought a new shallow water dish for Louie as he had to rest on the side of his previous one to drink and sometimes used to slip. This one is an inch all round and he can drink from it much better. However since having it he seems to drink more not excessively but just more. Also now at least once a day he will rest his head in the water for about 5 mins then ends up making like a sneezing noise like it has got up his nose, this is the only time he makes this noise as well.

The need for water depends on the tegus diet. If you feed him a lot of fruits he will drink less water due to the fact that fruits contains a high amount of water.
Although a shallow low rim food/water bowl is more inviting for them....hence they might drink/eat more than usual.

Sneezing is very usual....since they explore everything with their nose first, things might enter the nasal ducts which then requires a good blow out. If he soaks his head in water he will wanna eliminate the water in his nose afterwards. It's very fun to hear them sneeze....coz it's practically the only noise they ever make icon_biggrin.gif
