help!!!!

had my 2 tegs out earlier for the first time in the garden and my black and white came across a slow worm(brit reptile) and b4 i could get him away from it he already swallowed it is it ok 4 my teg to eat a wild animal i dont put any chems down in my garden but aint got a clue were that little bastards been any help would be great

your tegu is a wild animal they are by no way domesticated if you let him loose today he would live on what ever he could find to eat. he will be fine as long as he doesnt eat anything poisinous. Just don't make a habit of feeding him, or leting him eat wild caught animals

thanks jose thats a relief i didnt intend for him 2 eat it but he found it wen i was keeping an eye on the red and b4 i knew it he was swallowing it just glad it is ok thanks

not a problem , think of all the people that let the tegu's free roam in gardens in yards in parks, how many do you think eat things while exploring , lots.. and in public places it is probably more likely to find chemicals and such. your tegu just had a treat he found himself

It is nice to see that you care about your Tegus that much.You are right about not knowing where the wild insects came from.Just keep a eye on his stool ( if he gets the runs ) and his behavior.How did they act when you took them out side ? where they scared ? my Leonidas is about 5 months old and he is still scare going out side unless he can hide under my shirt.
