i've had my tegu since september the only thing he/she will eat is boiled eggs and mice...hewont even touch ground turkey...he woke up from hibernation mondayu...and he still hasnt eaten..i also seen symptoms of MBD...and when he walks his leggs shake alot..he also will not touch anything that as calciumn powder in it or on it...this is getting frustrating i've never heard of a picky tegu...someone help this little guys my best friend..but a mice only diet cant be healthy for a still growing tegu hesdabout 20'' and can eat hopper mice...sum1 plz help!
The first thing that comes to mind is the lighting situation. Is the tegu receiving sufficient lighting: UVA / UVB, with the temperatures and humidity at consistent levels?
my tegu doen't like turkey at all , if your tegu just woke up from hibernation it will need some time to get a appetite back mine didn't eat for 1 week then started eating slow now is pigging out

Our Zeus went into hibernation in January ( we got him in December ).He looked very healthy when he went into hibernation.I know that Tegus suppose to come out of hibernation in March.I got very worried when it was the end of march and he was still sleeping. So I pm Rick ( the Admin from this forum and he is the Breeder of some very tame Tegus ) and asked him what I should do.He sad it was ok for me to dig him up.So I did.He was very skinny. He wouldn't eat any thing either.I also was worried that when he is basking but didn't eat any thing that he would get dehydrated so I force fed him some chicken and turkey/gravy baby food with some calcium and vitamine powder. Two days ago he ate a pinky and yesterday he ate a fuzzie. He looks a lot better now.
