My names Spencer and my hobby is herps, lizards more then snakes. I'm only 14 but i would consider myself with a share bit of knowledge. I live in Winchester Ontario which is about 30 mins from Ottawa. I currently own a male Green Iguana named Napoleon and a male Bearded Dragon named Dante. Napoleon was a rescue and is rather small, he's been in my care for almost 2 years (June 11th) and is only 30 inchs. I open the gate into the hobby with rescuing Napoleon even after reading how hard they are to care for, personally i don't find him that hard to care for and has the personality to make it worth it icon_smile.gif

I am planning on either getting a monitor or a tegu for my next reptile but i keep changing my mind on both, i want both so bad but can only get one. If i get the tegu i plan on giving it a nice big enclosure that will double as a new bed frame, It will also give me the chance to upgrade to a bigger mattress icon_biggrin.gif I'm thinking King icon_lol.gif

That's about all i can think of at the moment.

OH i joined this site a long time ago but never posted was more of the stocker type icon_lol.gif

Take Care,
Spencer

Hey hows it going! I know what you mean, I am a huge herp guy myself too. I started with fish but then did a rescue on a bearded hatchling two years ago, and I have been hooked since. I am with Jose on the Tegu thing. I was where you were... monitor or tegu.... monitor or tegu... and even though I could get a monitor for half of what I paid for a tegu, tegus are def worth it!!! I did the research and for me, tegu fit the bill!

HOLY CROW!!! There's a 350 gallon fish tank for sale 30 mins from me icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif It's 72''x30''x36'' ( lxwxh ) Think thats big enough for a single tegu?! icon_lol.gif Only 300 bucks to!! It doesnt have the bottom pain though but couldn't i just place a thick piece of plywood under it, lay some lino over the wood and silicone around the edges to the glass?

I was thinking a pair or trio of Red Ackies ( Which from what ive seen would cost around 600-1000 without shipping and taxes...) or a Argentine Black & White Tegu. Now that this tank is out I REALLY want to get it!! Maybe ill see if he's interested in trading my set up 55 gallon fish tank for it icon_biggrin.gif Worth a try right? and BEGGING the parents.

You guys think that the Tegu would like that cage? How much do you think it would weigh! around 700 pounds icon_confused.gif That's empty to...ahhh thats no good...

Spencer
