I might be able to buy a 350 gallon fish tank. The measurements are 72"x30"x36" (lxwxh) Thats 6'x2.5'x3' . You think thats a good size for a adult Argentine Black & White tegu?

for a single adult tegu the size you're contemplating is just fine. Yes there are other options, and yes bigger is "better" but that's true of most hings . You're tegu will be for fine in a home that size. That said glass aquariums are not my favorite reps., heat, rises so it will constantly be escaping out the top, therefore more effort to keep at the right temp, this will also cause humidity issues, although glass is better at keeping it in. Also glass walls allow heat ot escape faster and easier than wood, just considerations. The last issue is that an open top most aporoximates how Tegus might be attacked by the few predators (0ther than man) they might encounter so it might take more to get your tegu used to you.
Thanks for the quick replies everyone! I can't place it on its side because the tank has no bottom ( hence why its for sale ) The previous owner had made plans to put a new bottom on but never got around to it so it weighs a LOT less now. It comes with a stand that i plan on siliconing to the tank unless some one can think of a better idea? The stand is supposed to be water proof because he coated it with a outdoor paint but i just want to make sure. I also think im gonna put some tiles on the bottom for 2 reasons, 1. It can dig through them and 2. it will file its nails down slightly.
I realize glass cages are "worse" for herps but he might throw in a canopy that he was making for a fish tank so i should be able to attach some lights to it, would a MVB be better then a dual fluorescent tube with Reptisun attached?
The cage is obviously to big for a baby so could i just section it off with something? What would you recommend?

Yes I would section the cage.
1) Easier to clean
2) Give a progression of the Tegu (more he grows, more place he has!)
3) Easier for him to find his water bowl, food, hide etc.
I also agree with Greentriple about the Glass aquarium enclosure. The reptile see his reflect into it and it can stress him or he can imagine that there is another reptile there and go for it.

Should i buy some bristle board then just to put over the back and part of the sides? Is there any colour that makes them stand out the most ie green ?
Any ideas on my previous question about how to seal the bottom of the stand? The owner said i could always buy some plexi glass and silicone it to the glass then i could just put my tiles over it right?

Spencer, if it were ME, I'd try to lay it on its side and make a back for it (which used to be the bottom), and some type of closure for the front of it (which used to be the top). Then I'd cut holes in the top, but just for the lights. I think you'll be fighting (a losing battle) humidity and heat escape problems otherwise. Plus you'd rather have that 36" dimension working for you as floor space rather than wall space. More work perhaps, but definitely worth it in the long run, I think. Just my thoughts...
