Hi there. Glad to find this site! I'm new and just got Izzy about a week ago, he's about 4mos old and was bred in captivity so was already used to being held, with only little wiggling. He slept all day today until I finally got him up around 4pm. Is that normal? He's been getting up around 11am everyday and then he went back to sleep when I put him back in his tank. I had put him in the bathtub yesterday so maybe he was just stressed. icon_eek.gif

Hi Imaginer.Welcome to the Tegu forum family and congrats on Izzy.It could be that maybe Izzy was hibernating before you got her. They usually come out of hibernation at the end of march. It also takes them a while ( some times a week or so ) to get used to the new place. It is also normal for them not wanting to eat for like a week when they are in a new place. Is she eating ? do you have a basking light ? what is the temperature ? how did she act when you put her in the bath tub ?
