I was at the local pet store today and I happened across a couple baby hybrids. Does anyone have any experience with these? Do they need the special care that the reds do? how are they tempermant wise? He offered to sell him for $200 which I though was a reasonable price. What do you think?

You could ask Swtbrat ( personal e-mail her ).She has one.I think it is all up to the owner of the Tegu how they turn out to be.A lot of people say Columbians are hard to train and that might be true but if you put some love, time and patience in to taming them they can be tamer than a argentine one that doesn't get all the love that the columbian gets.I say if you have the time, patience and love ( and that is with all Tegus ) you will have a very nice tame Tegu .
I recently acquired 3 Blue x Red hybrids via trade.
I have only had them a few weeks but to me they act like B/W tegus.
I have a pair of adult B/W's, and a 1 1/2 yr old Red male. While their personalities are different they are all similar in habit, etc. I care for them all the same way. At this point, I have not noticed anything different
in their behaviors compared to my Red or B/W pair. These are from
last fall so they are approx 7 months old. They were hibernated and range from 14" to 17" inches. I don't think they were handled much because they are a little flighty at first but calm down quickly. They get more used to me every day. They act just like my Arg. B/W babies that
I hatched last fall.
Two of them look similar (darker in color) and the third is very white
or "blue influenced".
