Housing two in the same tank

I have a baby columbian in a 40 gallon aquarium. In june I want to get an argentine b&w or red. My question is, could I keep my baby columbian in the same enclosure as the baby argentine?

yeah.. i have a subadult female col. and my subadult male arg. in a 6.3.2 custom. they sleep, eat, and bask together with out any problems.
id just let them meet in a neutral place. like the bathtub.. or living room floor. somewhere that neither of them could smell the scent of the other one.. let then hang out a few times.. and see how it goes. then u can try them together. just make sure the whole cage is clean and wash all the things that are to be in there (if they arent new) and have new substrate. and they should do fine.. mine do.

only way there could ever be a small problem is if they were both males.?
