I fed Zues his first mouse in about 6 month last week (long hibernation) and 2 more yesterday and he hasn't pooped since. Is anything wrong or will it just take awhile?

they usually poop after eating so if you fed him a second time he should be pooping the first mouse or some fecal matter

thats a very good question mine barely poo,s dont get me wrong shes done a beast in the bath, and beleive me i was in the bedroom and heard this god all mighty noise, plurpeeeeeee bubbles the lot, went in there to investigate and i noticed there was a floater drifting towards the other side, a thought dirty little bugger, she must of had constapation, and couldnt crap, releiving her in the bath seemed to work,i do see this little white hard stuff which assuming is poo, but ive seen the brown kind and core oh blimmey it really takes my breathe away, specially the house,s....they shouldnt crap straight after food. thats purpostrouse, do you poo after you eat lol, i think they just go when there ready. like me for instance ive been 4 days without a shit, dont ask me how or why , just happens.....digestion stage ....some take longer than others, hope ive cleared a little up there.

lol dave, you on opiates?
i think most people crap daily.
people on opiate based pain meds don't (vicoden, Moriphine, Methadone. Oxycontin ect.)

I'd recommend taking your tegu out for free roaming, mine seems to save up all his crap for my carpets.

btw, the white part is powdered urine

worldeater.I was just wondering where you found the info about the white part being powder urine icon_rolleyes.gif .I could be wrong but I always thought that was because of the calcium powder that I give my Tegus.I have never seen or heard any thing about powdered urine before icon_confused.gif .

Trek.Mine usually poop, too, when I give them a bath but a nother thing you can do is give him some Activia ( natural ) yoghurt. That helps with the digestive system.

The white part is called urates. It is mainly uric acid. Then you have the watery part which is more like actual urine. I've never had problems with constipation with my tegu but a warm bath is supposed to help. Ask your veterianarian about giving some kind of oil for help in moving things along. I've heard people using fish oil but I would not unless you ask your vet or someone on here who knows they are safe. Mineral oil is sometimes used with humans but it is not recommended for use in pets.
