Thanks guys!! Yeah she is starting to calm down, I was actually able to walk around with her a little bit, but she started getting jumpy so it was back to my room.
And speaking of another one... There is a B/W at the Petco here, it is prob going on 26 inches now, she has no heat above 95 degrees and she looks WAY under fed! She has all of her toes and all but she is as long as the cage she is in and doesn;t get the treatment she deserves. I want to adopt her so bad but they won;t go below 199 dollars for her!! DRIVES ME INSANE! But the addiction has caught hold and I want another one! haha

I know how that goes.I saw one about 2 weeks ago at Petland and I saw the same problems there that you saw at Petco.I actually brought in some of my own mulch and go there every other day to check on him/her.He is a little red Tegu and so cute.He was sooooo relaxed in my hand today.I would love to get him but we already have 3 dogs and 7 reptiles and those Tegus get so big ( we have two ).I'm so close to wanting to talk to a manager and complain.I gave the two guys that take care of the reptiles this forum info.I told them they need to check it out and get some info of of it so they can take better care of that poor little fella. He loves to curl up in his water dish and goes for a long dive.I didn't know they can be under water that long.I think those pet stores shouldn't be able to order any reptiles unless they take classes on how to take care of them and get a license. It upsets me so much.

Just make sure you dont buy him. That will just give the store an excue to keep buying them. They just care about making money. I made that mistake with a red tail a few years ago....it didn't end well _________________ 1.0.0 Spyder BP - Parker

The best plan of attack is to just try to educate the store owner. Give him some time to try to fix it and if conditions dont improve then contact animal control. _________________ 1.0.0 Spyder BP - Parker

WOW that is a great idea.Thank you so much.I already brought in some cypress mulch.I already talked to them about how to take care of the Tegu and one guy actually brought in some fruit but the temps were still wrong.I gave them the info about this forum so they can do some research.I'll go check on the poor Tegu again tomorrow and see how things are.I feel bad because I don't want to be rude to people but I might call the animal control if things don't change by next weekend. Thanks again.
