Hey, I have a male and female bearded dragon.
They were both housed in the same tank.
They started to mate, So I know which is which.
I split them after various posts and concerns that people helped me through on this forum.
The female now is fine btw.. (Stopped eating and acted really lethargic)

But my male keeps digging?? Its constant, day & night.
I thought that was what pregnant females did?

Any help would be gratefully accepted.. Rather confusing.
Common behavior?

I'll try to post pictures of all my Lizards and snakes as soon as I find the time.
I know which is which.. because I've seen his penis go into the female.

Its just the male is digging; I thought that was a female action? for nesting?

I was strongly advised not to keep them together on this forum and from other people.

I think that if I left them together for maybe.. two weeks more, The female would be dead.. She wasn't eating, she wasn't moving, she wasn't her usual perky self.
I moved her into another tank and gave her some over-the-counter medicine.. Some sort of Reptile pick-me-up.

Shes doing just fine now.

I also had them out on the bed yesterday together.. and the male just went nuts and started attacking her.. And I don't mean biting to mate.. I mean full on attacking.

breeding can be hard on bearded dragons with females producing many clutches about 6 so seperate them is good and when the female is doing good I would place her back in with the male icon_smile.gif
