Anybody else have a lazy tegu like mine. I turned the lights back on a month ago, but still he sleeps. I've poked around and carefully uncovered him a couple of times, just to make sure he was still alive. I think he's just LAZY!! Doesn't he know about the Langaliers.

there not really active lizards, they.ll sleep every chance they have 2.i always see mine always asleep but as soon as theres sumin better then sleeping , i.e eating theyll be straight out and active again.ya may wanna let him out to roam the house or bedroom.people say theres come out at dawn like any body else. but mine will sleep all day if i let him.people also say not to open there hide or agravate them while there in there, to be quite honest every body has there own different ways and me, well i just get him out whether hes asleep or not.remember your the boss not the tegu. sumtimes when hes asleep in the afternoon in his hide ill spray the mulch and see his tail hanging out his hide and spray him, winding him up a little and most times he starts to wake up and come to the door of the tank.i try to make him as active in the day for healthy reasons, they sleep long enough in hibernation why sleep for the remainder of the year.
get him out every day let him stretch his legs and wonder, he,ll soon start to think id rather be out wondering than in my hide sleeping all the time.

Did you check your temps in your enclosure ? if it is nice and warm out side try to put him on a reptile leash and let him bask or roam around out side.
